IPL Photo Rejuvenation is a light-based skin treatment designed to address pigmentation, redness, visible capillaries and uneven skin tone helping to support a clearer, more even and luminous complexion.
Using Intense Pulsed Light technology, the treatment targets the chromophores responsible for unwanted colour in the skin, helping improve the appearance of pigmentation associated with sun damage, reduce the appearance of redness and visible capillaries, and improve overall skin tone and texture.
“ Suitable for a range of skin types, with results that build progressively over a course of treatments. Individual results may vary. ”
What can I expect during treatment?
You’ll be provided with protective eyewear before your treatment begins. A cool gel is applied to the skin, and your clinician carefully guides the IPL handpiece across the treatment area, delivering targeted pulses of light. You may feel a brief, warm sensation with each pulse. The treatment is tailored to your specific skin concerns, with your clinician adjusting parameters to ensure both safety and effectiveness throughout your session.
What to expect post-treatment?
After IPL Photo Rejuvenation, the skin may appear mildly flushed and feel warm - this typically settles within a few hours. For pigmentation treatments, you may notice the targeted areas temporarily darken before naturally flaking away over the following 1–2 weeks - this is the treatment working as intended. For vascular and redness concerns, you may notice a gradual reduction in redness and flushing over the following weeks. Individual results may vary.
FAQs
Avoid sun exposure, fake tan, and any active skincare ingredients in the days leading up to your appointment. Arrive with clean, product-free skin. It’s important that your skin is not tanned at the time of treatment. Your clinician will provide a personalised pre-care plan at your consultation to help prepare your skin.
Sun protection is essential following IPL. Apply a broad-spectrum SPF every day and avoid direct sun exposure for at least 1–2 weeks post-treatment. Use gentle, hydrating products and avoid heat, vigorous exercise and active skincare for 24–48 hours. Your clinician will provide a tailored aftercare guide following your session.
Most clients experience a brief, warm flick sensation with each pulse of light - quick and well-tolerated. A cooling gel is applied throughout to keep you comfortable. Comfort levels can vary depending on the treatment area and your individual skin sensitivity.
A full-face IPL Photo Rejuvenation session typically takes between 30–60 minutes, depending on the areas being treated. Your clinician will confirm the expected treatment time at your consultation.
IPL Photo Rejuvenation is not recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. Please let your clinician know of any changes to your health or medical status before your appointment.
